History of the Board of Management

Cheltenham Baseball Club Inc is a merged Club between Prahran Baseball Club (1915) and Cheltenham Baseball Club (1954).  The Clubs merged in 1973 and has expanded substantially to some 52 teams (Summer and Winter) and now boasts some 600 members.  The Club was incorporated on 6 January 1986.

The Club operates for 12 months of the year playing matches throughout Summer (September to March) in the Victorian Baseball Association, and Winter (April to August) in the Dandenong Baseball Association.

Cheltenham Baseball Club Inc is a single legal entity, ie ONE club.

A Board of Management controls the Club, which oversee autonomous Summer and Winter Committees.

The Board of Management consists of representatives of both the Summer and Winter Committees and has many activities to fulfill  its role.  Some of these activities include the following:

Liaison with Local Council
Application for Grants
Ground maintenance oversight
Clubhouse oversight
Sets policy for Summer and Winter Committees
Liaison between Summer and Winter Committees
Club memorabilia
